How to add modern MFA to your OKTA

This article is intended to help you add modern MFA to your Okta account. Modern Multi-Factor Authentication, or Modern MFA, refers to a 2nd factor of authentication on top of your username and password that is not obtained via Phone or Email. Western Home implements this additional layer of protection to ensure the security of our systems and the information within them.

Add Modern MFA to your Okta Account

2. Click on your name in the top right and select Settings

3. Select Managed security methods

4. The methods you have to choose from are the following, excluding password, as you already have that option set.

5. The method we recommend is OKTA Verify, as it is the easiest to use and integrates with OKTA, so that's what we will use in the following steps.

6. Please select "Setup" next to OKTA verify

(Note: It may list a phone like in my screenshot above and present the button "Set up another". Please check your phone and make sure the app isn't already installed and set up on your phone or other device. You can see how to tell if it is setup properly in step )

7. Once you click that, you will be prompted to enter one of your non-modern MFA methods and your password.

8. Click setup again

9. After that, you will be given some instructions and a QR code follow them and you should be finished.
